Human Rights at Sea

Human Rights at Sea (HRAS) were established in 2014 and have spent the last 10 years standing up for victims of human rights abuses at sea, ensuring that their voices are heard. HRAS are driving action to remedy these injustices by undertaking research, advocacy, investigation, and lobbying on behalf of people that are not able or are prevented from doing so themselves. So far they have influenced law and policy change in 52 countries.

SFACT has been awarding regular grants to HRAS since it’s inception in 2020, which have contributed to their ongoing work to achieve fair conditions at sea for all.
